I have always had a love for the human body and with my passion for sports and movement it was inevitable that I would become a sport and remedial masseuse. I enjoy restoring balance to the muscular skeletal system and feel there’s a strong mind and body connection that we are still learning about and can tap into to achieve optimal well-being.
What to expect
I use different connective tissues techniques to remove blockages and damaged cells, restructure scar tissue and adhesion, aiming to release muscular tension, stiffness, end chronic pain, optimise performance and help my clients lead a more active life!
I am a fully qualified masseuse with diplomas in Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy (LSSM), Anatomy Trains (Kinesis UK), Alignment Somatics (Tanya Fitzpatrick), Medical Acupuncture CPD 2015 offering:
- Sports and remedial: An essential part of any rehabilitation or sports training program, the maintenance of efficient muscle performance and flexibility allows the body to recover and develop at an accelerated rate. The regular use of a sports massage therapist can prevent many forms of musculoskeletal injuries& problems by detecting muscle fatigue, postural imbalances, inflexibly and minor strains and sprains.
- Myofascial release: Myofascial release is a non-invasive, gentle hands-on soft tissue technique that works on the fascia to release restrictions. The technique involves applying a gentle stretch to the restricted fascia until resistance is felt. Sustained pressure is then applied for 90-120 seconds or more until the therapist senses the first myofascial releases, which are sometimes accompanied by heat and reddening of the skin as blood flow is restored. As these releases occur, the therapist can follow the trail of further restrictions until the tissue becomes softer and more pliable. These releases take the pressure off pain sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels, and restore alignment and mobility to muscles and joints.
