New Location, New Life. Treating New Patients in Bedford

It’s been a while since I wrote a blog post as things have been particularly hectic in both my professional and personal life.

The biggest news I guess is that I’ve finally decided to move. They say that moving is the most stressful thing you can do and heck, they are not wrong! But, once I got over the logistics and the stresses of moving, all I can think of is, why didn’t I do this before?

I’m sure I’m not alone in getting to a certain age and reassessing needs and priorities and Covid certainly speeded things up for many people. In my case, I needed a slower pace of living and a place where I could be more in touch with nature and green spaces. I’ve never been a massive fan of large cities anyway and I felt that, at this point in my life, other things were becoming more important than others.

Way before lockdown, my partner and I had been thinking of moving; we both wanted to leave London but didn’t really know where to go. Then Covid struck and we found ourselves stuck in a flat like million others and knew that we had to get out. But to go where?

We considered many of the usual places on the south coast where I grew up but then a chance visit to Bedford changed my mind and we haven’t looked back since. Everything fell into place for us very quickly and, before we knew it, it was moving day!

I’ve only been living in Bedford for 3 months now and yet it felt like home on day one. We already feel part of a community, something we never really felt in London. I love that I can step out and run by the river, train in nature, as well as go canoeing anytime. Ultimately, it’s about making a checklist of your needs as they stand now, working out what are your real daily priorities and, for now, Bedford ticks all of mine.

I’ve also opened a clinic in town on top of the one in London, which is also a great way to meet new local people. I offer soft tissue therapy, bespoke injury rehab plans and sports massage in Bedford too.

Times are tough right now with the cost of living crisis, the conflict in Europe and the prospect of a cold, long winter ahead, but feeling good within yourself and the things you can control I find is the key to staying grounded and feeling happy.

Okey

PS: My new clinic is in the Castle Quarter of Bedford – if you live locally, I am currently offering a handful of FREE assessment sessions so get in touch info@movewitheze.com
